MUW Science Development Fund: additional PLN 13.8 million for science development

Thanks to the very good result of the evaluation of the quality of scientific activity and the fact that all scientific disciplines represented at MUW received a high A category, our university received additional funding in the amount of PLN 13.8 million for the development of science in 2024-2026.

- I have decided that the funds obtained through the work and commitment of all MUW employees will contribute to the MUW Science Development Fund used to support the scientific activity of employees, doctoral students and students of our University - says Rector Professor Zbigniew Gaciong.

Funding of more than PLN 4.6 million a year has already gone from the Minister of Science to MUW, and under the MUW Science Development Fund is earmarked for:

  • Supporting priority research areas
  • Establishment of a central publishing fund to support the publication of scientific papers in leading journals and to enable language proofreading of these papers
  • Financial support for participation in international and national scientific conventions
  • Support in the preparation and implementation of projects (including clinical trials of medical experiments)
  • Supporting the student scientific movement by, among other things, supporting student conferences and training in the preparation of scientific papers
  • Mentoring program for doctoral students and academic staff
  • Strengthening research cooperation with internationally renowned research centers.

The funds from the Minister of Science were obtained by MUW after the submission of a strategy for 2024-2026, prepared for MUW's participation in the next competition under the "Initiative for Excellence - Research University" (IDUB) program. The strategy includes a description of planned activities that will allow our university to effectively prepare for the competition, scheduled for 2026.
